Big Changes, Sticky Situations, and a Sandwich Tease

So, things are changing again. Not in a “goodbye cruel world” kind of way — more like a “hey, I’ve cleaned up the garage and accidentally built a new room” kind of way.

If you’ve been listening to That’s a Free Bee for a while (and if you haven’t, welcome — I’m Diggy, grab a biscuit), you’ll know that every so often, I get itchy podcast feet. I start thinking, “Wait, what was this show supposed to be again?” And then I go off and change something. Well, it’s happened again.

PodTales Is Flying Solo

PodTales has officially spun off into its own podcast. It’s not a breakup, it’s a glow-up. It never quite fit into That’s a Free Bee — scripted segments wedged between unscripted rambling always felt like trying to force a square peg into a circular monologue. So now, PodTales has its own home where it can be weird, wonderful, and well-researched all on its own. First episode? The mystery of the Salish Sea feet. You’re welcome.

Speaking of New Things: Draft

There’s also a new podcast called Draft. Think of it like a ranking show where opinions matter more than facts, and where I dedicate a full episode to something like... sandwiches. Yes, that important. Episodes one and two are already recorded, and let me tell you, trying to find a meaningful story about sandwiches took more energy than I care to admit. But it’s fun, it’s weird, and I’m weirdly proud of it.

Bug Fixes & Improvements: Now a Website Too

I’ve also been quietly building a proper website — bugfixesandimprovements.com. It’s got podcast players, blog posts (like this one, fancy that), and summaries for every episode so you don’t have to listen to me waffle for 40 minutes if you just want the gist.

Think of it as the centre of the weird little universe I’ve created — a place where each podcast gets its own page, with write-ups, behind-the-scenes bits, and all the other nonsense I’ve been itching to share.

Life Update: School Tribunals & Emotional Gymnastics

Quick personal update — we’re in the midst of a not-so-fun journey trying to get my daughter into a school that actually supports her needs. Long story short: the school accepted her based on incomplete paperwork. Now they’ve met her, even they think she should go somewhere else. But bureaucracy is bureaucracy, and our appeal isn’t until October. Which means... we’ve got a rough couple of months ahead. More on that soon, I’m sure.

The Great Flypaper Debacle

And finally, because I cannot have a week without some kind of ridiculousness — I got into a full-on brawl with a piece of flypaper. I lost. My hands were stuck together, I ruined a Scrub Daddy, and yes, I’m still slightly tacky. If you're wondering whether I learned my lesson — I didn’t. I’ll absolutely do the same thing again in three months. Tune in for that.

If you’re not already subscribed to That’s a Free Bee, PodTales, or Draft — keep an eye on the feed or the website. New stuff’s coming, and it’s honestly better than ever.

Also, if you’ve got thoughts, stories, or just want to say hi (or send Scrub Daddy condolences), you can reach me through the contact form on the site. Or just yell into the void. I check that sometimes, too.

Until next time — stay sticky, stay curious.
